                              Our temple priest requested  the devotees to chant NAMASIVAYA  MANTHRAM  from at home as much as possible and he collected the total figures using computer , made it more than one crore in a short period and created a  Ginness record.We got a certificate for the same. The sons of my two brothers and the son of my sister and my own son Cheenu are settled in US. Except C the other three are in the  eastern part of US. In the  pre  pandemic period they had no time to have phone talks with one another ,because of their office work load. This pandemic has worked wonders in seeing that people are confined to the four walls of their respective houses and spend time with family.They found more time for prayer too !! Using the ZOOMING  APP , all the four families jointly chanted  Vishnu Sahasranamam on every Saturday  starting exactly at  4 pm .  I was  also able to join  the chanting. One hour was spent in a nice way.After chanting with all seriousness, we were  also able to chat  for  some time. Using  You tube channel  , I was able to hear Bhagavadgeethai, Bhagavatham discourses by eminent Swamijees and also the anugraha bhashanams by our Jagadgurus of Shringeri and Kanchi Peetams.                                                                                                           This particular Bhgavatha Sapthaham which I enjoyed via you tube during my stay in America had been performed by Brahmashree Nochur Venkataraman in 2016 in  a village belonging to Tamilnadu by name Nalliseri, near Mayavaram of Tanjore district.Brahmashree  Nochur Venkataraman,  a disciple of Ramana Maharshi had done  wonderful Bhgavatha Sapthaham which is a scholarly exposition of a vesatile genius , with a thorough grip of Sanskrit, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and English.He has extensively quoted from the Vedas, Uapanishads, Bhagavadgeethai, Naaraayaneeeyam and from the works of the Tamil saints naayanmaars , alwars,Ramalinga Adigalar, Manicka vasagar among  others. 

 Another equally talented person  is Swami Omkaranandhaji who is running an Ashram in Theni  ,to propagate the ideals and contents of Vedas and to spread the Adhvaitha sidhantha of Aathisankara., His lucid lectures on Bhagavadgeethai and Bhagavaham are excellent. In fact, He  teaches these subjects to the residents of the Ashram as well as other interested persons taking one slokam per day with a detailed explanation , with the commentaries of Aathisankara taking only one slokam per day.

            On 13 th April, the Tamil New year was born.Chithirai Vishukkani was observed in the traditional form.We extended  our greeings and best wishes to our friends  and  relatives by whatsapp.

        Aathisankara's Jayanthi Mahothsavam was celebrated for the five days. 23-04  to 27-04 , Thaithriya Upanishad manthra paaraayanam was done by C and myself.

                                                          TRAVEL   (  12  )                                         Summer has started slowly. The usual protective wears like socks, hand gloves ,shirts, over coats and caps for our head , blankets were not required as before.    The chill rooms which needed heater so long felt no such need now.9|5 was a Saturday and therefore we had the chanting of Vishnu Sahasra namam at  4  30 pm .After that C took me outside for a small change.We did not go too for away, but at the nearby road itself, we  got a good sea breeze standing outside the car.                                                                                TRAVEL  (  15  )                                On 14th, August, all of us went to Sanfrancisco Bay area to have  a closer  look of  landing and taking off  by the flights.
